The website features multiple multiple view and opinions of players who begin to talk about the themes and presentations of the mental health aspect featured in Hellblade. Many reviewers explain and go through their personal stories. Some people have described it as a "personal journey of self-expectancy" and A mascot for gamers around the world suffering from mental health issues" these quotes like many others are a symbol showing that Hellblade isn't just a game it is almost like a message in the form of a game that the developer is trying to raise awareness of. The writer of the story and the scripts had their personal issue with mental issues and bullying during her school life and her social life. These all lead to them is suffering from mental issues such as anxiety, lack of confidence and early signs of agoraphobia. The overall community opinion was mixed and was a mixture of disagreements with the article and agreements. The main bulk of the feedback support agreement with the writer's themes of the game with the vast majority mentioning or talking about the whispering aspect of the game.

One of the main issues with Hellblade is the violence in the combat and the blood that occurs whilst in combat. This type of semi-extreme violence can cause violent and bad thoughts onto young brains who take this game as a role model and end up taking part in the crimes that feature in this game due to no one telling them that this isn't a good thing and that they are illegal to perform in public. The violence in these game usually ends up being apart of Children's lives due to the parents irresponsible behaviour.
Apart from the influence aspect, there have been multiple cases where crimes have been committed due to influence from video games and extreme content. A group of teens committed a mugging in Hyde park with the influence for the attack being grand theft auto which includes themes of violence and contains hundreds of crimes in game. There is a second side to the story where people believe that there isn't a link between the crime and the game. If there is a long lasting effect on younger minds then PEGI and the regulatory bodies need to take into account and be tougher and stricter on the purchasing and selling of high rated games being sold to minors.
One of the controversial issues with Hellblade and their youth audience is that the mental health aspect can have an impact on the younger generation as well as also effecting possibly people with mental health issues and suffering from such things as psychosis or anxiety.
